How to make perfect rice every time


I cook rice by absorption and this method always delivers perfect rice that also stays warm for ages. Fill one normal coffee mug with rice - this is plenty for two people. Poor it into an empty pan, then rince maybe six times with plenty of cold water until no starch comes off the rice, then drain till most of the water has gone. Then add one and a third mugs of water (using the mug you measured the rice with). It should look like the above. Bring to the boil on the cooker and then a few minutes later - when what looks like upside down volcanoes appear, cover with a lid, take it off the heat. Wait ten minutes, fluff up the rice and serve.
