Andrew's Kitchen - about me

The Langdales

'Cumbria not Umbria' proclaim Booth's linen bags, other alternatives include 'Preston not Heston' and 'The Cake District', fun and great marketing for the Waitrose of the North.

Nowadays though we do eat like we're Italian, Spanish, Indian, or Mexican because we can, maybe not as well as they do themselves - but hey we try - I hope you'll find my recipes to be authentic, some written with it's history and/or social setting.

We all have a food hero and ever since Floyd brightened our screens I've taken his attitude; that is to have a go at anything. I'm constantly seeking supplies of ethnic fare for authentic taste, and am most happy whilst in Asian, Chinese, Polish supermarkets or even Lidl. I also grow unusual vegetables unavailable around here or anywhere like tomatillos and Sicilian serpents.

This blog and it's collection of ever growing recipes is a reference library and as it evolves it forces me to find more culinary challenges and delights from around the world...

I hope you enjoy.

Thanks

Andrew
