Potato Paprikash (Paprikás krumpli)

Potato Paprikash (Paprikás krumpli)

Another lockdown dish made with Hungarian Sausages found in Lidl when there was precious little else, see the Hungarian soup also down the page.

This is a simple one 'big' pan dish, that can be put together in minutes, okay so take some fat off some bacon and set it to fry, and chop an onion, add it when the bacon fat is rendering down. Meanwhile chop a pepper, peel and chop some potatoes, a few tomatoes, and garlic. Add to the pan when the onion is translucent. Add a large spoon of hot paprika, yes lots, and a teaspoon of ground pepper, yes lots. Caraway seeds too but I haven't got any but I'd imagine lots would be the quantity. Cover with water and set to simmer.

Fry sliced sausage until browned either side. And add to the stew, simmer away until the pots are done. And there you are, oh and check for seasoning, potato dishes quite often need more salt, this did and I also added a bit of Tobasco, these touches lifted it and gave it a big kick. Hopefully you'll have some gherkins to serve it with. Oh and this is awesome.

And as always, enjoy.
